 CLAUDE COLDY
Claude Coldy, of Caribbean origin, Coldy was born in Paris in 1954.
After spending years as an athlete and practising martial arts, he began to study dance when he was 20 years old.
Between 1975 and 1983 he studied jazz, modern jazz, classical dance, modern and contemporary dance in Paris. The dance masters under whom he studied include Francoise Saint-Thibault, Solange Golovine, Matt Mattox, Lynn Simonson, Joseph Russillo, Quentin Rouiller, Peter Goss, and Jacques Patarozzi. He also studied mime and theatre with Pinok and Matho, two former students of master E. Decroux. Towards the end of his time of study, he starts teaching dance.
In 1981 he became Gianin Lorin's assistant, the choreographer of the Off Jazz Dance Company. In 1983 he founded the Italian dance company Arbalete, where he was choreographer and dancer. With them he went on tour in Europe, participating in to various international festivals.
The company represents Italy at the Bagnolet festival.
In 1987 Claude Coldy returned to France, getting married and becoming a father. In Grenoble, he founded the Centre de Formation et de Dance Creatorio. While continuing to dance in several different performances, he engages in pedagogical activities, giving seminars in several European cities. In the meanwhile, he started
to study Osteopathy and psychology, with the aim of gaining
more knowledge in communication and behaviour techniques. During this
period, he is particularly interested in the research by Rudolf
Steiner, Jacques Salomè, Henri Laborit and Ryke Geerd Hamer.
In 1990, he founded Danza Sensibile, together with the
osteopaths J.L.Dupuy and M.Guyon. Since then, all his time is
dedicated to this research through the seminars that he gives across
Europe.
In 1998, he founded the society Diatomées, whose aim is the practise and spread of the Danza Sensibile through seminars, ateliers and conferences.
In 2005, he concluded the first cycle of lessons in
Danza Sensibile, from which a group of qualified teachers were prepared
to lead groups of Danza Sensibile.
He is now leading the second cycle of lessons and
several study seminars in a natural environment.
